1.) It caters for all stages of your start-up journey
The competition caters for all levels of start-up stages: ‘Ideas,’ ‘Development’ and ‘Growth.’ Funding is available at all stages, and there is pro bono support available from our sponsors in the Growth stage of the competition. You can apply to any and all stages of the competition and do not need to complete them in order (more information below). To read about some of our start-up stories from previous winners of the competition, click here.
2.) Every idea counts
What makes a start-up? From jewellery design to bespoke robotic limbs, bespoke nutritional meal prep, to novel vertical farming technologies, there really is no limit to what counts as a ‘start-up.’ We welcome ideas from all disciplines, specialities and scales. Applications from charities, social enterprises, freelancers, sole traders and limited companies are encouraged.
3.) You’ve got nothing to lose, and so much to gain
Whether you’re a natural problem solver, have an idea and want to try something new, or you’ve always dreamed of being an entrepreneur, we’d love to hear from you. The competition is designed to provide you with the encouragement and space to try out your ideas in a pro-active and experimental way; growing your confidence, increasing enterprise skills and enhancing your start-up journey, wherever it may take you.
‘Basecamp have been extremely useful for us as we’ve moved from initial ideas stage to the point where we’re looking now to grow the team and get some [further] funding. Being able to talk through complex issues such as finance, marketing and other core areas has been amazingly helpful.’
Ideas Stage successful applicant Roman Bromidge from start-up Merudite.
