As ever, most of the activities listed on myopportunities and mycareer are perfect to use towards the ‘70 hours of Experience’ and ‘Skills development and training’ sections of Award – and there are hundreds of activities listed!

The Career Services new online Career Ready Course is a great way to meet the ‘Skills development and training’ sections of Award.

Thinking further afield, courses on LinkedIn LearningFutureLearn and Coursera are also great platforms for this section of the Award.

All paid employment, online internships or placements can be used as experience towards the Award. Forge and InsideSherpa offer a range of free virtual work experience programmes that you can choose from.

All volunteeringstudent leadership and representation roles are recognised too. The Bristol SU and Bristol Hub offer a range of opportunities and advice on how to get started!

Different structure same great benefits

With our new elements in place, we made sure all the great things about the Award remained unchanged. For example, you can back date Award evidence from any year of your studies, from anywhere in the world, including vacation periods and still maximise the value of your experiences through reflection.

We still work closely with our Endorsing Employers to provide online activities open exclusively to PLUS participants and the Award will be recognised on your degree transcript and at graduation.

We are still here for you

While the PLUS team may not be on campus at the moment, we are here to help.

We run weekly 30 minute live online sessions where you can ask us any questions or share concerns. Also, once you register, you will receive a fortnightly email on with inspiring ways that you can meet the 70 hours of Experience’ and ‘Skills development and training’ sections of the Award.

To find out more about the Award, visit the Bristol PLUS webpage, view the Bristol PLUS Award Introductory Talk video or book your place in a PLUS Award Live event.

Register for the Award by the 14 February 2021 to take part.
