Meet our 2025 New Enterprise Competition winners!

Last night we celebrated our brilliant New Enterprise (NEC) GROWTH stage finalists. We saw a highlight of some of the amazing businesses that we have supported this year in Basecamp Enterprise.

Back row (left to right): Kieren Sharma and Riku Green (Artificially Ever After), Abanoub Ghobrial (Fidelis AI), Mukund Srinivasa Raghavan (EarTide), Farjana Akter and Ankit Karmakar (Animalize.io). Front row (left to right): Daniel Virin (Cribster), Arik Shukhman and Holly Brown (pebbl), Sam Rapier (Exekias Games).

The NEC is the Careers Service’s flagship start-up competition. Run by the Basecamp Enterprise Team, students, graduates, and staff, with support from mentors and experts, transform their start-up ideas into business realities.

The final stage of the competition, the GROWTH stage, sees shortlisted participants pitch to a panel of experts for a chance to be awarded a share of the prizes, which include funding support, pro bono legal advice from VWV LLP, SETsquared memberships and other opportunities from our sponsors and supporters.

We are thrilled to announce our overall winner of this year’s GROWTH stage (drumroll please)… pebbl!

pebbl was co-founded by Arik Shukhman and Holly Brown. They have just launched their first product, Pebble One, an innovative, automatic cable management device.

pebbl won £8,000 funding, along with £2,000 pro-bono legal support from VWV LLP.

“I think that our one feeling is being overwhelmed with joy. This funding and support will provide us with the opportunity to expand right at a critical time in our development. We’re so grateful.” – Arik and Holly.
