Hi, I’m Jasmine.
I’m a current masters student studying Applied Neuropsychology, and I have just recently completed my marketing internship with Neuronostics Ltd through the SME Internship Scheme.
Neuronostics is a start-up company which aims to utilise mathematical modelling in the EEG diagnosis and prognosis of neurological conditions, such as epilepsy. My main motivation for applying for this internship is I was intrigued by their technology. I’m very interested in the field of neuroscience and it relates to my course.
The internship was a combination of remote and offline work in the Engine Shed, Bristol. I worked on marketing research, developing a competitor brand analysis report and social media content planning. This internship has allowed me to improve my skills in marketing, problem solving, research and collaborating with others.
I had the opportunity to meet a variety of experts and academics who taught me a great deal about the start-up MedTech industry. This networking has made me more interested in pursuing further education within the neuroscience field.
I would highly recommend this internship scheme experience, and my advice is to not be afraid to try out new roles which seem unfamiliar. Not only will it enhance any skills used within the role, but it could also serve as a great opportunity to network and learn about different fields of work.
