Did you complete the Bristol PLUS or Outstanding Award as part of your university experience?
If so, we want to invite you to help us celebrate the ten year anniversary of the Awards! 
The Bristol PLUS Award started in 2009 as a way to reward students for developing extracurricular skills and experiences alongside their degrees, and help them articulate the value of that experience to employers. In ten years, the premise of the Award has not changed, though it has evolved in response to student feedback, university projects and labour market developments, to ensure that the Award remains credible and beneficial to every student who dedicates themselves to achieve it.
Here are just a few highlights:
2010 – The Awards receive coverage in the Guardian.
2014 – The Award partnered with the Students Union to introduce an employability category to their annual awards ceremony to honour the highest achieving Outstanding Award students.
2018 – Over 1000 students achieve the Award, the highest number ever in one year!
There are various ways we ask asking alumni to celebrate with us.
1) Share your story for a Careers Service blog, social media post, or email to current students. A few words and pictures about how the PLUS Award helped you after university would inspire a new generation of students, and could raise the profile of your current business or project, wherever you are in the world.
2) Speak at an event for 10-15 minutes about what you have done since graduating. We are planning an event series across the year and would like to invite some alumni back to share their experiences and network with current students.
3) Offer a prize to a recent PLUS Award achiever. PLUS Award students are proactive and hungry for work shadowing and internship opportunities, office visits and other money can’t buy experiences. If this could be mutually beneficial to help you recruit possible future talent for your business or project then we would love to discuss this with you.
