The 3 Day Start-up

Interested in start-ups or aspire to be an entrepreneur while befriending some like minded creatives? 3 Day Start-up is for you!

What is 3 Day Start-up?

3 Day Startup

3 Day Startup (3DS) was founded by a group of students in 2008 who wanted to make entrepreneurship more accessible for students. Through the years, 3DS have worked with over 16,000 students in 35 countries, across 6 continents, and this year’s programme will be held at the University of Bristol!

Run in partnership between SETSquared and the Basecamp Enterprise team, 3DS is a free 72-hour workshop which teaches entrepreneurial skills to university students in a fun, supportive and hands on environment. Usually run on campus, this year’s programme will run as a virtual learning-bydoing workshop where students from partnership universities; Bristol, Bath, SouthamptonExeter and Surrey work collaboratively to solve ideas and generate credible business ventures.

What does the weekend look like?

Ten students from partnership universities with a wide range of backgrounds will collaborate and start companies over the course of 3 days. 3DS will provide online workspace over the weekend, and you will pick the best idea for a startup and release a minimal prototype by the end of day three. The goal is to build enough momentum among a network of motivated people to sustain the company beyond the weekend.

What’s in it for me?

Students describe the program as, ‘a life-changing experience that inspires them to change the world for the better’. The best-case scenario is that you will be a co founder of a wildly successful new startupCheck out the success stories of 3DS here. The worst-case scenario is that you will work with brilliant people from numerous disciplines and backgrounds to work toward the common goal of building real companies and products.

Sounds great! What do I need?

You don’t need to be a CEO or even have a business idea with back catalogue of experience. All you need is creativity, a love for working with others, a free weekend and to be willing to have some fun.

Through professionally led workshops, real-life customer discovery and intensive pitching practice, you’ll find out exactly what it takes to grow a business in just days!

Got what it takes? Applications are now open for all students and close on the 2 October 2020  apply here .
